CNC members Ashley McCraight, Mark Warren and Frank White have formed a collaborative working group with four Frodsham Town Counsellors (FTC) with the goal of encouraging more residents and visitors to travel actively around town. Three projects have been identified and approved by FTC’s Amenities committee who backed them with substantial budgetary backing:
- Improving signage and information on cycling and walking options from the town centre
- Working towards installing a crossing in Church Street
- Introducing a scheme for the loan of e-bikes
Good progress has been made on the first project. The group is planning to install new information boards at the train station and bus stops to encourage visitors to explore the town on foot and by bike. The information boards will highlight local sights and will display recommended walking and cycling routes. QR codes will provide a link to the routes on the Komoot app. Funding of £10,000 has been offered by the North Cheshire Community Rail Partnership and an illustrator is currently being selected.
