A free bike check-up from qualified engineers, courtesy of Frodsham Town Council (FTC) and supported by Cycle North Cheshire (CNC), will be held on Friday 5th April, 10.00 – 14.00 on the Frodsham Community Centre field.
We know from experience that many new bikes are enjoyed until they become un-rideable. The reasons vary but frequently involve weak brakes, punctures, loose bolts, misaligned gears, rust and lack of lubrication etc. All fixable of course, but often the young rider or his/her parent doesn’t know what to do. Dr Bike engineers do and will be happy to help.
So if you know anyone who might be interested, please tell them and ideally display a copy of the poster prominently so they can enjoy riding again this spring.
At the same time, they can also get their bike security marked by PCSO Neil Flanagan – again free!
Also, CNC members will be able to explain the detailed discussions we are having with Sustrans to design LTN 1/20 compliant extensions to the local cycling and walking infrastructure plan.
Some possible improvements to local cyling infrastructure.
Not only that, but members of the joint FTC/CNC Active Travel team can share their goals and progress they are making to encourage people to cycle and walk more often.
Update – 1st May 2024
The event was a great success. Around 40 bikes were repaired by the Bren Bikes team and security marked by Neil. It was also great to see lots of people interested in the work that CNC and Active Travel Frodsham are doing. Thanks to everyone who turned up and braved the April showers!
